The Pink Retreat 2019 – What You Need To Know

November 13, 2018 · In: Fashion, Lilly Pulitzer, Palm Beach, Travel

********** UPDATE **********
I’ve written The Unofficial Guide to The Pink Retreat 2019! This guide has all the information you may need for the weekend – I have included a printable schedule, recommendations on where to dine, transportation information, where to shop for Lilly (on and off the island), free and paid activities to do if you have some down time, and the best photo spots in Palm Beach. Check it out here!
******************************

Hey y’all!

So today, Wednesday November 14, 2018 registration is OFFICIALLY open for The Pink Retreat 2019! Click HERE to register! Some of you may already know what The Pink Retreat is, some of you may not. Let me give you a little run down.

The Pink Retreat is the ULTIMATE getaway for ladies 18+ who LOVE Lilly Pulitzer! Founded by Tosha Williams, the first Pink Retreat took place in June of this year, 2018. I had the privilege of attending, making myself one of “The Originals.” Over the course of the weekend we all spent together in Palm Beach, FL we got to know each other through happy hours, shopping trips, paint night, and guided tours of the infamous Worth Avenue.  While planning all of this in 2017-2018 Tosha caught the sight of the Lilly Pulitzer team and they are now the featured sponsor for the 2019 Pink Retreat!

Here’s what you need to know about The Pink Retreat 2019:

When: June 21-23, 2019

Where: Palm Beach Florida

Price: Registration from now until March 1st is $100, after that it goes up to $125. Other activities are available for an additional cost that I will list those down below. Keep in mind all activities are optional, and some are free! Some such as Happy Hour, Girls Night Out, and shopping events will only cost what you choose to spend. But be quick to sign up! While registration does not have a limit other activities, free or paid, do have limits!

Worth Avenue Tour with Rick Rose – $15
Sunrise Yoga – $15
Pink Painting Night at Uptown Paint – $29-$39

Where to Stay: Not local to Palm Beach or just want to have a staycation? Tosha has hooked us up with some amazing hotel deals I’ll post below. But please be sure to check out The Pink Retreat website HERE to get full details on how to access these deals and other rules/regulations.

The Brazilian Court – Located 2 blocks from Worth Ave – $199/night Studio with Patio/Terrace $299/night One Bedroom Suite

The Colony Palm Beach (this is the hotel I personally recommend) – Located on Worth Ave – $219/night

The Chesterfield Palm Beach – Located 1 block from Worth Ave – $149/night Superior Queen $209/night Deluxe King w/ mini fridge

Hyatt Place WPB – NOT ON THE ISLAND – $119/night Single Queen or King

*I have had experiences at The Brazilian Court, The Colony, and The Chesterfield. While I would recommend all of these I do prefer The Colony. Happy Hour will be held at The Colony this year and it is the closest walk to Worth Ave AND the beach. If you are planning on not having a car I would not recommend the Hyatt due to it not being on the island. You’ll spend more money on a rental car than you would just staying on the island. Also, many ladies have asked if staying at The Breakers is a good choice. My answer is if you want to, sure! But keep in mind events will be near Worth Ave and The Breakers IS NOT within walking distance and parking on Worth Avenue can be difficult and costs money for more than 2 hrs.*

Transportation: If you prefer not to drive or are not close enough to drive, there is an airport right in West Palm Beach! PBI is about 10 minutes from Palm Beach island and some hotels may offer airport pick up, but Uber is easy and affordable as well. If you choose not to rent a car if you are flying, Uber/Lyft are great options. Palm Beach island also offers FREE transportation through an app called The Free Ride. All you have to do is download the app, select pick up and drop off locations, and a glorified golf cart will come pick you up! There are barriers to how far and where they can take you, but they can get you anywhere you’ll need to be for the weekend with the exception of The Gardens Mall. They can also take you to CityPlace and Uptown Art according to the app!

What to expect: TONS OF FUN, OF COURSE! I had a blast last summer at The Pink Retreat. I was nervous to go by myself but ended up making friends and having a ton of fun. I made a separate blog post about my experience at The Pink Retreat 2018, which you can read here.

Be sure to join The Pink Retreat Facebook Group HERE for updates on everything. Here you can come in contact with other ladies going, have questions answered, and even find roommates if you’re looking to save some money! I, of course, can always answer your questions as well here in the comments, on my Instagram @TheNorthernPrepster, and even via email Hello@TheNorthernPrepster.com!

💫My Short Review of Epic Universe💫 *as a Dis 💫My Short Review of Epic Universe💫

(blog post & YouTube video coming soon)

‼️TLDR: Overall it was as chaotic as I expected so I was neither impressed nor disappointed. However I’m unsure how things will suddenly be running smoothly at the opening that’s just 2 weeks away.

✨I’ll start with our highlight which was mainly Super Nintendo World! I was a big Nintendo kid so this was very anticipated for me. While the rides were meh the land is extremely immersive. I do wish we had more time to explore the games you can play with the power up bands!

🍔As for food we didn’t eat a ton but had lunch at Oak & Star Tavern (BBQ) which was much better than I expected! Not the best theme park food I’ve ever had but definitely better than anything I’ve had at Universal in the past. We also got a frozen melon apple drink in Nintendo that was perfect for a hot day!

🐉Isle of Berk was cool overall but for such a niche IP I wasn’t really interested. The one ride we rode in the land - Hiccup’s Wing Gliders - ended up being our favorite!

🧟‍♂️Dark Universe was a tad underwhelming. I was really looking forward to it but it didn’t really do it for me. At night it was cool but the ride wasn’t as good as I was expecting. I’ve heard quotes that this is the “most technologically advanced ride in the world” and that’s simply not true. However the ride wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be!

🇫🇷Magical Paris was neat despite me not being a Harry Potter fan. It really felt like Paris! However the lack of attractions there is a huge problem.

🎢Despite it being technical rehearsals to me does not justify the amount of rides that were either completely shut down or broke at some point. Only 2 attractions in the entire park had zero issues all day. We rode 4 attractions since everything else was closed (2 would’ve caused motion sickness). I don’t see how these will magically be working in 2 weeks. The closures caused long wait time and chaos in every aspect. At opening they had no system for filtering people into queues in a reasonable manner. Something Disney figured out decades ago.

Glad we went and experienced something new! #epicuniverse

I snagged this iconic tweed jacket from @lillypulitzer most recent sale and I’m obsessed - I got the matching dress and can’t wait to wear it as a set💚

I’m also loving this belt from @jmclaughlin 🤍 As someone who struggles to find belts curated to my style when I saw this I fell in love. I finally snagged it in Newport Beach a few weeks ago and I’m obsessed! It truly elevates every look👏🏼
