My Top 5 Favorite Running Brands and Products – RunDisney Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2019

February 15, 2019 · In: Disney World, Fashion, Fitness

Hey y’all! In preparation for Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend being less than a week away, I thought I’d share with all of you some of my favorite running brands and products. I know I have been doing a lot of RunDisney content lately, so I apologize if you’re not interested in that! But I promise I’ll get back to some non-running blog posts next week 😉

1. SparkleSkirts

This is my go-to brand for running skirts. I only have two, but I love them so much and couldn’t survive a Princess Half Weekend without them. Not only are they super fun and come in every color and pattern imaginable, but they are so incredibly practical. They have a built in “running belt” by having a zipper in the front that has a HUGE pocket. It can fit my iPhone 6 Plus, a small pack of tissues, a snack, everything I need for my races. They also have built-in shorts that don’t ride up as you run. No wedgies here! Not to mention the shorts also have huge pockets on both sides if you can’t fit everything in the zip pocket. I also love that they offer inclusive sizing and go up to size 3XL. You can see their sizing chart HERE.

2. Brooks Running Shoes

I always recommend getting professionally fitted for a running shoe. Employees at your local running store can help analyze your running style and foot shape to help you decide what is best for you. However, I am a big fan of Brooks and know a lot of others who are too. So they’re a brand worth checking out!

3. RawThreads Athletics

My first time purchasing items from RawThreads was about a year and a half ago. I was apprehensive because their items are pricey. But after trying them, I am a believer! Their products are soft, made of bamboo, and so comfortable. Since they contain bamboo they dry quickly and don’t retain smell, which is perfect if you’re a sweaty person like me lol. They have something for everyone, men and women, Disney fans, etc.

4. FlipBelt

When I am not wearing my SparkleSkirt with the built in running belt, this is my go-to! It doesn’t ride up and is offered in a variety of sizes and colors. These have so much room in them (the whole thing is basically a giant pocket), so you’ll definitely be able to fit all of your necessities while running.

5. KT Tape

KT Tape is such a great tool to keep in your medicine cabinet as well as your bag during a race weekend. KT Tape can help with a wide variety of pains and injuries. I personally wear it for shin splints every time I run, even if I don’t have shin splints at the time. Their YouTube Channel is a great tool where you can learn to wrap for certain injuries and pains.

Thanks for reading this blog post y’all! I hope it helped you discover a new product or brand to try. Let me know down below what your favorite running brands and products are.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @mo I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @morganjuliadesigns brand new Jersey City location on our way home from NYC🫶🏼 This only added about 20min to our trip which was well worth it!🪡 Such a beautiful shop with so many great canvases👏🏼

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

✨48hrs in NYC✨ Somehow at 27 I had still never ✨48hrs in NYC✨
Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
