Hi y’all! Welcome back! Due to popular demand today I’ll be doing a little lookbook on how I dress for fall in the Florida heat. Florida fall is essentially non-existent. It’s still sunny and 90 here most days and to be honest, I kinda hate it. I always loved the crisp fall air while growing up in Pittsburgh. Not to mention, sometimes it’s nice to be able to wear pants (instead of shorts) outdoors lol.
Growing up in PA, I also know September is sometimes the hottest month of the year. And while you want to be in the fall spirit, the weather doesn’t always allow it. Needless to say I am excited to share some of my tricks and tips for dressing for fall in the heat!
Let’s get into the looks!
Dresses are kinda my best friend in my wardrobe. I know they aren’t for everyone, but growing up wearing a school uniform I prefer skirts/dresses over pants/shorts any day! Dresses are also the perfect way to dress in fall colors/prints while staying cool. Plus, most dresses you can layer with sweaters, leggings, and boots once it gets colder, making them more weather-appropriate.

Hair accessories are SO IN this season! I’ve been loving the headband comeback (a fashion statement I ALWAYS supported) as well as barrettes, which I always preferred over bobby pins. These are a great way to get into fall fashion that don’t add heavy layers to your body. Leopard print, velvet, pearls, and tortoise shell are all great fall trends and in my opinion are timeless when styled correctly! See some of my favorite hair accessories for this season in THIS blog post.

Finding basics in a fall print or color scheme is a great method as well! For example, Target has TONS of basic tees/tanks for affordable prices. Whether you’re looking for a fall print like leopard or camo or a basic maroon tee, they’ll have something for you! While these pieces look great on their own with some jean shorts, you can also layer them later in the season with leggings, boots, and a jean jacket. See my previous blog posts on leopard and camo for some more inspiration!

Jewelry is another great accessory for fall and winter! During the summer I often don’t wear necklaces or bracelets because I simply don’t want anything touching my sweaty skin lol. But I have some great jewelry pieces for fall that go with almost anything and are on trend. Y’all also know about my love for statement earrings… I basically screamed when I saw what BaubleBar came out with for Halloween (cats, ghosts, pumpkins, bats, and skeletons), they are all just too cute! If you want something more subtle, I love my earrings from Little Fish Boateak.
I hope y’all enjoyed this little lookbook for fall in Florida! I also wrote it in a different style than I normally write my lookbooks, so let me know if you liked this new method or not. Feel free to leave a comment down below with questions or just let me know which outfit was your favorite! And be sure to follow my on Instagram to keep up with my other fall looks.
Thanks for reading!
