The Cake Bake Shop Disney Afternoon Tea – Honest Review

March 11, 2025 · In: Disney World, Travel

The Cake Bake Shop Disney Tea Review

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen that I finally went to The Cake Bake Shop Afternoon Tea! The Cake Bake Shop Disney location has definitely drawn some eyes to it since opening last fall at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. We tried their lunch/dinner food back in November, but I knew I wanted to try their afternoon tea service ASAP. Today I wanted to share my experience at The Cake Bake Shop Afternoon Tea.

If you want to see my other review on The Cake Bake Shop click here! Also don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more content.

Booking & Pricing

How do you book the afternoon tea experience? This isn’t an offering you can do walk-up – you need to book it in advance! You can either call or email them via the contact information you can find on this webpage. I utilized email and they got back to me within 24 hours and got everything scheduled for me! This process was super easy and painless.

You do pay before you go and 18% gratuity is automatically added. Some people have an issue with this but personally I see it as many other Disney dining experiences that automatically add gratuity or have gratuity included in the rate, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table. I would assume you can always slip your wait staff some extra cash if you’d like to give them more!

My friend and I attended and for the two of us it was $247.95 after tax and gratuity – so a little less than $125 per person. This is about on par price wise for a luxury tea in my experience.

The Experience

This experience from start to finish was top notch, just like my previous The Cake Bake Shop experience! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. And our dedicated server, and his trainee, were excellent! They were incredibly knowledgable and no details were spared.

Upon arrival at our table we noticed they had customized these welcome cards for each of us! Such an amazing touch and it made us both smile. The tables were all beautifully set and of course the ambiance in The Cake Bake Shop as a whole is truly second to none.

Stunning details of millwork, the ceilings were drenched in pink flowers. And of course their iconic carousel display in the main dining room was decked out as per usual. Being in The Cake Bake Shop is like stepping into a beautiful dream.

The Tea

Of course this is an afternoon tea experience, so there will be a tea selection! I love that everything was displaying in a menu in addition to it being beautifully presented in front of you by the staff.

When I say the tea display I gasped! Just STUNNING. And the bow toppers? Icing on the cake. But I don’t know why I would expect anything less from The Cake Bake Shop.

We were presented with six tea options and were thoroughly presented to about each one, the flavors, and what it may or may not pair well with. While presenting it we were also offered to smell the loose leafs so we could get a better understanding for what we may or may not enjoy.

The tea is unlimited and each tea pot comes with about two cups worth. Plus they asked for our milk preferences and gave us sweeteners and such. You can try as many of the teas as you’d like which makes for a fun tasting experience as well.

We were also served still water at our table. If you want any additional drinks, including alcohol, you are able to add that to your tab for an extra charge!

The Food

As for food, we were started with a seasonal scone. Since it was winter time we got an orange cranberry scone. I honestly don’t really like scones – or maybe I’ve never had a good one… Until now! The scone was warm, fresh, and HUGE. It was served alongside jam, clotted cream (my favorite), and European butter. All paired perfectly with it. I wanted to save space for the rest of our “meal” and our served offered to box up the rest of my scone for me to take home.

Then the tower arrived. It had a mix of sweets and savories. The tea sandwiches were delicious. It featured classic offerings like cucumber with goat cheese, chicken salad, egg salad, and salmon with cream cheese. I loved them all! I don’t normally like chicken or egg salad – but these were perfection.

The second layer of the tower featured a selection of their bars. We had lemon bars, a fruit cobbler bar, and an “everything” bar (chocolate, nuts, etc). We were truly reaching our breaking point already but I tried bites of each and they were all delicious! But I am personally biased to a lemon bar.

And finally the top layer featured The Cake Bake Shop’s iconic chocolate cake (in mini form), macarons, and more! While we did both taste the chocolate cake, which was fresh and fabulous, we did end up taking most of it to-go.

The staff being so willing to box everything you don’t finish is so great! Next time I go I’ll definitely schedule it for the beginning of my vacation so I have treats for the rest of my stay!

Is It Worth It?

I’ll cut to the chase – YES! This was certainly worth it in my opinion. The service was superb, the food was delicious, and the ambiance is second to none.

For how much you pay you get a great amount of food, and everyone else doing the tea around us was also taking goodies home. They suggested us blocking a hour and a half for our experience, but it did end up running a bit longer. But honestly, I loved that it was a ~2 hour experience as you get your money’s worth in terms of an activity as well!

While this isn’t the cheapest dining experience on Disney property it is one of the most luxe and in my opinion is priced accordingly to the service and food quality!

Would I Do It Again?

I would certainly do this again! My friend who attended with me isn’t nearly as big of a Disney fan as I am, and she wants to go back as well. I definitely want to take my Mom and sister here, and even my husband, for tea.

I think this is the perfect thing to do for a special occasion – we saw a family celebrating a graduation when we were there. And The Cake Bake Shop can even help you host events like birthdays and showers. So if you’re local or are traveling for an event like that I’d definitely consider this if you’re into a feminine vibe!

I hope you all enjoyed this review of The Cake Bake Shop Afternoon Tea! I really enjoyed myself and already want to make another visit.

Cheers!

xoxo

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @mo I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @morganjuliadesigns brand new Jersey City location on our way home from NYC🫶🏼 This only added about 20min to our trip which was well worth it!🪡 Such a beautiful shop with so many great canvases👏🏼

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
