Hey y’all! Yesterday I asked on Instagram what post you want to see on the blog today, and this is what was chosen! If you don’t follow me on Instagram you should go do that 😉 @TheNorthernPrepster. But today I wanted to share with y’all what subscriptions I’m currently subscribed to, and the pros/cons of each. So let’s get into it!
1. Shop I Love Jewelry’s MonoBox
If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen me share this! March will be my 3rd month with this subscription, and overall I’m pretty satisfied. This is a monthly subscription billed on the 1st of every month and costs $21.95, which includes shipping. You get 3 items, one of which is embroidered with your monogram. You do have to pick a size for this since they do sometimes ship clothes. I suggest sizing up if you are taller/lanky like me. I’ve gotten size Small the past two boxes, and while the items fit I could use more length in the arms and torso. I’ve contacted them to change it to a Medium. Also, not gonna lie their customer service is terrible lol. But being based in West Palm Beach, FL and me having lived there, I get why it’s terrible… I will also say the items aren’t the most amazing quality, but for $21.95, there isn’t much to complain about. They don’t wear out quickly or anything, but if it was any more than $25 I personally wouldn’t pay for it. Does that make sense? LOL. But if you’re interested in trying it out (you can cancel at any time) you can click HERE to order; this month’s box contains a weekender bag and other accessories (shown in the pic).
2. Shop I Love Jewelry’s Monogram Swag Bag
Yes, another from Shop I Love Jewelry lol. They sold me on this one with the cute heart PJ pants from January’s box. This is a $10 subscription y’all! So affordable, and the price includes shipping. With this, you get one item which is embroidered with your monogram. I have been very satisfied with this one. Both months I have received have contained great quality items and are super cute. I get this in a size Medium. While the tee I got last month was oversized in the Medium, the PJ pants from the month before were perfect and this month’s is a long sleeve hoodie (shown in pic), which will be better for me in a Medium. Click HERE if you want to subscribe! I would probably recommend this over the actual MonoBox if I’m being honest. DISCLAIMER: the listing on the site says it’s “on sale” for $10 but is originally $50. I don’t know why they do this, but it is $10 and will not increase.
3. FabFitFun
I got my first FabFitFun box back in January and I was shocked how much I loved it! There was so much about it that I didn’t know until I subscribed. This is a seasonal box, so it is only billed every 3 months. It is $49.99 a season, or you can get a discount if you pay for the whole year at once. What is great about this box is that you actually get to pick some of the items you receive. That means you’ll at least get a few things you actually want. While the box is only $49.99 you’ll get well over $200 worth of goodies. This season’s “big ticket items” include a beautiful robe from Show Me Your MuMu valued at $84, and an adorable Deux Lux Demi Backpack valued at $75, among other choices. And you get to pick which one you get! You’ll get at least 5 FULL SIZE items in your box. I used to get Ipsy, which was fine, but paying $10 a month for samples just doesn’t make sense in my opinion. If you want to see what I got in my Winter 2018 box head to my Instagram TV to check out my unboxing! If I’ve sold you on it, you can order yours by clicking HERE and using code WELCOME10 to get $10 off your first box, making it only $39.99. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
4. Studio DIY Can’t Clutch This
This clutch subscription is so fun! Every month I get a fun clutch delivered to me for $19.99/month, which includes shipping. I have had this subscription since November and I am committed for a year. They have a month-to-month option, but it costs a few more dollars each month. But honestly speaking, I have loved every single one so far. They are great quality as well. These clutches are only available to subscribers, except for the occasional flash sale they have, which bring a limited number of old clutches back for a limited time. You can expect lots of bright colors and whimsical designs. In 2019 they also started making each clutch so they have the ability to attach a strap to make it a crossbody, which I love! They sell crossbody straps for $9.99. Click HERE to subscribe! The pic above displays this month’s clutch that I used in a Rapunzel DisneyBound on my Disney Instagram, @FlyingElephantAdventures.
5. Amazon Prime
I don’t think this one really needs an explanation lol. I am still currently on my free 6 month trial they offer to students. But, I’m sure I’ll keep it once it expires because I like getting fast, free shipping. And I like being able to watch TV shows and movies on Prime (I recommend The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Sex and the City). For students, 1 year is $59 annually or around $7 a month if you pay monthly. Click HERE to subscribe or get a free trial.
6. Netflix
Duh.
7. Sling TV
Grant and I have Sling instead of cable. Technically our apartment includes cable, but it’s not HD or anything fancy. Sling allows you to essentially pick what channels you want to watch. They have a TON of movies and shows on demand, and you can watch from your smart TV or computer. Don’t have a smart TV? No worries! They’re always having deals that include a Roku adapter for free, which makes any TV a smart TV via WiFi. Sling starts at around $20 a month and you can easily change what channels you have monthly. So for November & December I added Hallmark channels to our plan for only $5 more per month. Parents can also enable parental controls and there are tons of movies to rent as well.
There you have it! Those are my current subscriptions. I wasn’t a big subscription person until recently lol. All of the non-tech ones I have acquired since November/December, which I don’t know if that’s good or bad lol. I hope you found this helpful in some way! I keep seeing the Shop I love Jewlery boxes on your Instagram and they’re always so cute! I’m slightly worried about the sizing since I’m plus sized but I may have to give it a try!

It may be a good idea to start with the $10 option just to see how sizing works! You can always cancel or change your size.
