Stay Cool & Cute This Summer with Sailor-Sailor Clothing

May 13, 2019 · In: Fashion, Spring & Summer

Hey y’all! I hope y’all had a fantastic weekend. If you follow me on Instagram (@TheNorthernPrepster) you may have seen me talking about Sailor-Sailor Clothing! I want to thank them for collaborating with me on this blog post and sharing some of the goodies from their Summer Collection with me.

Sailor-Sailor was started in 2014 by friends Kimberly & Kim. These Connecticut-living, preppy-loving ladies developed a brand that displays a preppy style with a twist, perfect for the lady on the go. Their items are proudly American made, which is very important to me, and they’re moisture-wicking and UPF 50. These pieces are designed to keep you cool while still looking put together. Read more about the team and their brand here. And let me tell you, these pieces are doing WONDERS for me here in the Florida sunshine! Let’s take a closer look at the Summer Collection.

The Dockside Dress in Knotted Rope Ball

I am so in love with this dress y’all! I love the subtle bell-sleeve, the print, the colors… everything! Y’all know I love anything nautical, so this is right up my alley. Unfortunately it doesn’t looking like this cut/print combo made it into the collection. But this print is available in other styles – I personally love the Boardwalk Dress; plus, the Dockside Dress is available in prints such as Sunfish Sailboats & Large School of Fish. We plan to go on a cruise sometime this year, and this dress will be perfect! I am wearing a size Small.

Haley Top in Picnic Check

The Haley Top is one of my favorite pieces Sailor-Sailor offers! Y’all know that I love a good 3/4 sleeve, and the bell-sleeve makes it even better. And can you ever go wrong with navy gingham? This is going to be my go-to top for the 4th of July. Y’all know I love a good Americana look. We plan to spend the holiday in Pittsburgh, and it’s gonna be hot! Thankfully, Sailor-Sailor’s pieces have UPF 50 and are moisture-wicking, which will protect my skin and keep me cool. I’m also OBSESSED with the Little Buoys print they offer this top in. I am wearing a size Small.

The Coco Dress in Soft Wave

This dress is just darling! The Coco Dress has the cutest ruffle sleeves, which I think makes the dress. Sailor-Sailor is great at making silhouettes that are flattering on all shapes and sizes. Their items are also super stretchy, so you can go to that cookout and eat all you want 😉 When I was shooting these pictures it was about 90 degrees out and super sunny. Needless to say, I was sweating lol. I honestly can’t believe how moisture-wicking these pieces were. This may be TMI, but there were no signs of back sweat which gets two thumbs up in my book! This dress is also available in Picnic Check. I am wearing a size Small.

Sailor-Sailor offers so many great pieces for Summer! Be sure to shop on their website, Sailor-Sailor.com; they also have items on sale for great prices in their sale section and treasure chest. You can also sign up for their email list to get 15% off your first order! They’re currently offering 40% off of their Resort Collection with code 40RESORT. If you don’t follow them on Instagram, go do that as well @SailorSailorClothing. Thanks again to Sailor-Sailor for helping me with this post! Leave a comment below and tell me your favorite piece from the collection.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @mo I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @morganjuliadesigns brand new Jersey City location on our way home from NYC🫶🏼 This only added about 20min to our trip which was well worth it!🪡 Such a beautiful shop with so many great canvases👏🏼

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

✨48hrs in NYC✨ Somehow at 27 I had still never ✨48hrs in NYC✨
Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
