10 Advent Calendars for Kids – Holiday Gift Guide 2019

October 15, 2019 · In: Gift Guides

*SEE MY ADVENT CALENDAR POST FOR 2020 HERE*

Hey y’all! Today I am following up on my adult advent calendar guide with some for the kiddos. I know many kids would more than enjoy the chocolate advent calendars that cost a few bucks at the drug store, but why not add some more magic to the holiday by getting them an advent calendar with items they can enjoy longer? I’m so excited to share these with you!

This Disney storybook advent calendar is truly unique! This is the gift that keeps on giving. It includes 24 paperback books that they can enjoy for many years to come! Prices vary depending on seller.

Disney also came out with a figurine/toy advent calendar that is Disney Junior themed! If your kiddo is a Mickey & Friends fanatic, they have one for them as well. These run a little under $30.

This Playmobil advent is a great option for toddlers! Not to mention it’s only $24.99.

I absolutely love this option from Crayola! This is perfect for any kid who loves coloring and art. It comes with coloring sheets, paints,  crayons, markers, and so much more. It’s under $20 and the activities will keep them busy while you’re trying to enjoy some eggnog 😉

I’m really not up with the trends in elementary school-aged kids, since my youngest nephew isn’t even 2 and my niece and older nephew are in middle school (I feel old…). But I do know the L.O.L. Surprise franchise has been popular the past few holiday seasons. And yes, they have an advent calendar! Amazon seems to offer it for under $25.

The Schleich brand is well known for their realistic animal figurines. You may have seen their items at educational stores as well as at places like Tractor Supply. They have this awesome dinosaur set as well as a great set for horse lovers. These are great toys to stimulate the imagination! Both are priced at $34.99.

What kid doesn’t love Lego? Heck, some adults would be all about this advent calendar! Over the past few years, Lego has had a few different advent calendars, from Lego Friends advent for the girly-girl, a Lego City advent for the classic Lego fan, and even franchised advent calendars like Star Wars and Harry Potter! I love that these are good for a variety of age groups. My boyfriend would kill for the Star Wars one himself.

I think this is the first year I’ve seen a Funko Pop advent calendar! I found this Marvel one, which my older nephew would love, but they also have a Harry Potter one available. This is another one that would be great for a large age group, and even some adults!

I know I included the Crayola advent calendar, but this Bic one is pretty cool as well! It not only features stickers & coloring sheets, but it also has crayons, pens, and more. I honestly think this would even be cute to gift to a teacher this holiday season.

I wanted to include one candy advent calendar just for fun, but I didn’t want it to be chocolate. This is a HARIBO advent! I legit want this y’all lol. Plus, the vast majority of Haribo products are gluten free, and all are dairy free and nut free, making it allergy friendly!

I hope y’all enjoyed this fun post! I already got great feedback from my adult advent calendar post I made on Monday. I’m so glad y’all are enjoying it! Be sure to sign up for my email list to stay tuned to the rest of the Holiday Gift Guides.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

✨48hrs in NYC✨ Somehow at 27 I had still never ✨48hrs in NYC✨
Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
