Hey y’all! It is officially the holiday season here at Walt Disney World Resort! If y’all didn’t know, I live extremely close to Disney World. I can see/hear the fireworks from my apartment, and can even see the tip of Cinderella’s Castle from the parking lot. Needless to say, we’re big Disney fans.
In my opinion, the holiday season is the best time to visit Disney World. There are so many magical things happening that are special for Christmas in the parks. Today I’m sharing 5 things you definitely don’t want to miss! If you’re looking for activities that don’t require a park ticket, check out this blog post.
1. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom
This one is a no brainer! If you aren’t familiar, MVMCP is a special ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom select nights from November 8th through December 22nd. The night features an exclusive (and new this year) firework show, an exclusive castle show, a special Christmas parade, and so much more!
Did I mention there are tons of snacks included with your ticket? Cookies, eggnog, and so much more can be picked up at select locations throughout the park. Plus, there’s exclusive merch and treats for sale. Tickets start at $99 and it’s really a great deal since park admission is included starting at 4pm – a few hours before the party starts.
2. Sunset Seasons Greetings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Many of you are probably aware of the transformation that has taken place at Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM) over the past few years. Many parts of the park have been changed, and unfortunately the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights left with it. However, Hollywood Studios has brought some new holiday events to the parks that happen nightly! One of them is Sunset Seasons Greetings located on none other than Sunset Boulevard.
Lights are dimmed, Christmas music plays, and a fun projection show plays on a loop throughout the night. These clips and projections feature some of your favorite Disney movies/franchises like The Muppets, Toy Story, Prep & Landing, and more! Oh, and did I mention there is SNOW? Well, snoap lol. I’ve really grow to love it the past few years, and you don’t want to miss out on the fun.
3. Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays
Everyone talks about Food & Wine Festival or Flower & Garden Festival, but Festival of the Holidays is hands down my favorite! From November 29th through December 30th you can taste your way through the holidays from around the world. And don’t forget to watch the Candlelight Processional which tells the story of Christmas with music and celebrity narrators. You also won’t want to miss Chip and Dale’s Tree Spree, the Holiday Cookie Stroll, and the ‘Joyful!’ vocal ensemble.
4. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Another great addition to Hollywood Studio’s holiday festivities is Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, a nighttime show featuring your favorite elves from Prep & Landing. The show uses projections, fireworks, and lasers to make a jaw-dropping holiday celebration that you won’t want to miss! You can catch this show nightly at Hollywood Studios from now until January 5th.
5. New Holiday Additions to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Unlike Easter and Halloween, Christmas is spread across all four parks at Walt Disney World. However, this year Animal Kingdom is stepping up their game! For the first time ever, there will be holiday touches all around Animal Kingdom. Some of these additions include life-sized puppets on Discovery Island, a winter flair to the Tree of Life Nighttime Awakening, and Pandora is even getting some love with Christmas at Pongu Pongu!
