You read the title correctly. I have been keeping a secret from y’all for some time now. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to share, it was more because I wasn’t ready to be bombarded with questions…
So, what’s this secret you may ask? (And to knock down your first guess: no, I am NOT PREGNANT).
But we are moving!
If you know me at all in “real life,” this may not come as a surprise to you whatsoever. But the cat is finally out of the bag – we are *once again* moving! I want to take this opportunity to answer all of the questions you may have about the situation. So keep reading!
Where are you moving?
We are moving back to our home state of Pennsylvania! We were both born and raised in suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA and that is the area we will be returning to. We won’t be in either of our family’s towns, but we’ll be close by.
Why are you moving?
When we moved down to Florida *almost* 3 years ago, it was not because we wanted to be here forever (it was actually because of my college career). We knew it was temporary, we just didn’t know how long we’d be here. Long story short, Florida isn’t for us. Compared to how we were born and raised it is just not how we prefer to live our lives and it’s not the same friendly atmosphere as up north. And while having the beach and Disney at our disposal is nice, it is not worth the mental strain that has been put on us while living here. Since many people close to use are settling down and having families, we want to be there to be a part of that. We’ve already missed 2 years of my nephew’s life, and we don’t want to miss any more time. Disney and the beach will always be here, but our family may not be.
When are you moving?
This summer – July to be exact! It is still a while away but it has become harder and harder to not talk about it, so I figured now would be a good time to put it out there.
Will you ever move back to Florida?
In short, most likely not. We aren’t necessarily sure if Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania will be our forever home, but for now to be up there is what we want. But I can confidently say I doubt we would ever move to Florida again. We are definitely open to going anywhere God leads us, but I don’t think it’ll be Florida.
What about your wedding?
We are still good to go! Nothing is changing on that front. The only thing that will change is that we’ll have to board a plane to get to Disney for our wedding instead of get in our car.
When did you make this decision?
As soon as we renewed our lease last year we had INSTANT regret. However, we have been through SO MUCH over the past 3 years of our relationship (we’ve moved every year since we’ve known each other) we wanted to have at least one summer to stay put. We strongly considered pushing ourselves for one more year to make it until the wedding, but we just couldn’t. And honestly, costs will even out anyway when it’s all said and done. But to answer the question, we’ve been thinking about this for almost a year, but we found an apartment back in PA in December when we were home for Christmas, so it has been in the works for a while.
When will you be in Florida next after you move?
October! We are planning to have our face-to-face wedding meeting in October, so we won’t be gone too long before making a trip. In February 2021 we’re planning to come down for Princess Half Marathon Weekend, and then in May 2021 we’ll be here for our wedding! After that we plan to take a year or so break from Disney to travel to some new places, but we’ll see how that goes.
It feels so good to finally get this off of my chest! And just to clarify, my blog and Instagram are not going anywhere. It’ll just be some new scenery and new content. I still plan to include Disney, Palm Beach, and other Florida content when I move. Those things are still a part of me and my personality. I know y’all will be so supportive of us in this choice, and I want to thank you for that! If you have any other questions feel free to leave them below or message me on Instagram.
Cheers!

Congratulations! WDW is my second home and all my friends tell me I should move there! LOL But I was born & raised in Illinois and I would totally miss the Midwest! The seasons, the festivals, I love snow, I love Fall Festivals and chilly nights in front of the fire! I totally get this post so much. We cancelled our trip in May but fingers crossed for October & December. I’m excited for you to be going home to PA.

Yes! I agree, I love having all the seasons. And I prefer to keep Disney as a vacation spot instead of day-to-day.

I’m glad that you’re moving back to where you feel your heart should be! I’m sorry to hear that Florida gave you such a bad impression? I promise, we’re not all bad ?
Jayme says
Haha! We’ve found a few hidden gems while here, but we definitely vibe more with people who are from the north! Thank you!
