What To Pack For Your Disney Cruise Line Sailing

August 15, 2024 · In: Disney Cruise, Travel

For those of you who follow me for Disney content, you likely know Disney Cruise is one of my favorite ways to experience Disney! We will be setting sail very soon on the Disney Fantasy (a first for us!) so it’s had me thinking about all things Disney Cruise Line.

Today I wanted to share with you what to pack for your Disney Cruise. While this isn’t a comprehensive list, these are items you may traditionally think to pack for vacation – even a Disney vacation – that you don’t want to forget. Let’s get into it!

Motion Sickness Products

Whether you do, don’t, or only occasionally get motion sickness – make sure you stock up BEFORE going on your trip! For only a few dollars you can be ready for anything the seas may toss your way. Products like dramamine, herbal inhalers, and ginger chews will be much more affordable on Amazon versus on the ship or even at the grocery store. Also a reminder you do not need name brand motion sickness bands, all it does is use a pressure point so get this pack of six for under $8 instead!

Refillable Water Bottle

Bringing a refillable water bottle or cup will definitely make your life a bit easier. Something unique about Disney Cruise Line is that all soft drinks, juice, hot/iced tea, standard hot coffee, hot chocolate, etc are included! And of course you can get ice water. Refillable cups for you and your party will help you stay hydrated throughout your cruise and on Castaway Cay. One hack is if you’re staying on Disney property before your sailing, just purchase a refillable resort mug, then take it with you on the ship. It’s a great practical souvenir. Be sure to fill up your water bottle each night before heading back to your stateroom!

Organizational Tools

Cruise staterooms are certainly smaller that a traditional hotel room. That being said depending on the length of cruise, how heavy you pack, or how many people are in your stateroom – you may be struggling for space! Thankfully there are so many ways to optimize your space such as these magnetic hooks that can stick to the doors to hold lanyards, clothing, etc. Other products you may want are an over the door organizer, a hanging toiletry kit,

Slip Shorts

The wind on cruise decks are no joke! That being said, ladies you may want to pack some slip shorts to go under those dresses. Nothing is worse than an unexpected gust of wind hitting you at the wrong time.

Door Decor & Lanyards for First Time Disney Cruisers

If this is your first Disney Cruise I don’t want you to feel left out! You may want to bring lanyards with an ID holder for everyone in your party, so you can have easy access to your key. Once you’ve been on at least one Disney Cruise they will provide you with one in your room upon arrival. Many people also choose to decorate their doors, so consider joining in on the fun! You can either DIY items or find pieces on Amazon or Etsy.

Adult Dining Approved Clothing

If you are planning on dining at one of the adults-only dining options; like Palo, Remy, etc. There is a dress code and men are required to wear long pants for dinner. This is something that is easily forgettable when you’re going on a tropical vacation and are planning on mainly wearing shorts. Rules currently state shorts are acceptable during brunch, but previously rules required pants at all times and no jeans. To see more details on the dress code for men and women, click here.

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @mo I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @morganjuliadesigns brand new Jersey City location on our way home from NYC🫶🏼 This only added about 20min to our trip which was well worth it!🪡 Such a beautiful shop with so many great canvases👏🏼

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

✨48hrs in NYC✨ Somehow at 27 I had still never ✨48hrs in NYC✨
Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
