Weekly Notables

February 26, 2020 · In: Lifestyle

Long time, no talk! If y’all follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been a bit busy over the past week or so. I have a lot on my schedule for February and March, so please bear with me over the next few weeks! But I’m going to try my best to get some posts out for y’all. Let’s dive into this past week’s weekly notables!

//one//

Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

DPHMW has come to a close! This was my 5th DPHMW, and it was definitely the craziest one yet. I completed all of the races offered during the weekend; a 5k Friday, a 10k Saturday, and a 1/2 marathon on Sunday. You can head to my Instagram to see all the pics throughout the weekend, including the bling I earned. I’m going back and forth between writing a blog post about the weekend. So if that it something you’d want to see, let me know!

Spring Break

This semester has been flying by for me (thank God)! My spring break is March 9-13, and I am so ready for some well-deserved time off lol. I’ll actually get a true “vacation” because we’re heading back to Pittsburgh March 5-11 for my nephew’s birthday! I cannot believe he is already turning 2, and I can’t wait to spend some time with him. I’m praying the next week goes quickly and smoothly.

Mickey Denim Joggers

I came across these adorable pants at the DisneyStyle store at Disney Springs! I tried them on and even ended up getting them for myself! They sold out super quickly both online and off, but I’m sure they’ll be restocked soon. I’d also suggest sizing down because in my opinion they ran big and the sizing chart isn’t very accurate. I ended up getting the XS, but the XXS fit me as well and I’m a size 4, but the size may also depend on how you want them to fit. They’re a great price at only $44.99 and you can get the same print on shorts and overalls.

Rothy’s Mary Jane

I have had my eye on Rothy’s for a while now. I have heard great things about them and I’ve been wanting to invest in a pair. After seeing their latest style release, The Mary Jane, I think it’s time that I snag a pair! They have a few color ways in this flat adorned with the cutest bow. And while I wish they had more colors, I am still struggling on which color way to pick! Wildcat would be great for fall, Black is great for every day, but Sapphire and Rosebud have really be catching my eye. You can get $20 off your first pair of Rothy’s by clicking the link at the top or HERE.

Time With Friends

During DPHMW our friends Gabby & Vinnie traveled from New Jersey to come visit us. If you’ve been following me for a while, you may know that they used to live here, and that is how we met, but they moved home a little over a year ago. It’s always great seeing them and picking up where we left off, as if no time has passed. While I haven’t even known them two whole years, Grant and me both know they will be friends for life. They are both so hardworking, caring, and kind, and I wish we lived closer. I miss them both so much every day, and I hope that somehow our paths will come together again at some point so we can be closer to one another. I just wanted to share that bit and to remind everyone to appreciate the times you have friends and family close by, because not everyone does.

Cheers!

xoxo

While this Christmas photo looks different than pl While this Christmas photo looks different than planned this year, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas surrounded by peace and love🫶🏼

My prayer is that next year brings the blessings we hoped and prayed for this year, whether those things are big or small.

I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @mo I’m so glad we decided to take a pit stop at @morganjuliadesigns brand new Jersey City location on our way home from NYC🫶🏼 This only added about 20min to our trip which was well worth it!🪡 Such a beautiful shop with so many great canvases👏🏼

Some tidbits from our trip as a NYC first-timer🚕

We stayed at @omniberkshirenyc - overall we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect (right in between 5th Ave & Madison Ave) and was a short walk to Rockefeller and Central Park. Only complaint is that the rooms were very hot (75*+). They also had valet parking that we utilized. We drove into the city and while time consuming it wasn’t as stressful/difficult as we had imagined. I’d certainly drive in again.

Our highlights were @therockettes and walking through Central Park. We walked everywhere with the exception of a boat ride we did. We booked a car through RideLux for that which I do not recommend, about equal service to Uber for 2x the price.

The boat ride with Classic Harbor Line felt like it wasn’t worth the $100/pp price tag. Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was neat, but that was about it. Also, if you get sea sick CHL is NOT for you!

Shopping overall was underwhelming, but we did hit the classic FAO Schwarz which regardless of the long line this time of year was a must-do! We got there 10min before opening and only waited about 10min after opening to get in.

As for dining we did some quick spots around the city including Springbone Kitchen - perfect for a fast casual but healthy meal - we did pick up and took it to our room! Ralph’s Coffee in UES was also on my must-do list and honestly it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been to the Paris and NYC locations now and both times it’s been delicious and the perfect drinking temperature, even if you do have to wait a bit. For dinner we got a same day reservation for BG at Bergdorf’s - the food and service were great and reasonably priced imo!

I’m so happy we got to experience NYC at Christmas as it’s been on my bucket list my entire life! I love a trip filled with firsts, since they’re what make lasting memories!✨

✨48hrs in NYC✨ Somehow at 27 I had still never ✨48hrs in NYC✨
Somehow at 27 I had still never been to NYC until now🌃 I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC as a little girl, especially at Christmas! Today dreams came true with a visit to Radio City Music Hall to see @therockettes and it did not disappoint👏🏼 I’ll be sharing more tidbits from my trip over the next few days🚕

*also brownie points to whoever can tell me where this iconic townhome is from😉*

30 hours at the most festive place on earth🏰🎄

We booked this trip after my miscarriage so we could get out of town, even just for a night, and embrace ourselves in holiday magic✨ While nothing will take away the pain and heartache, distractions help the days pass faster🤍

Next week we’re off to NYC for a few days full of firsts!🚕 Defintiely nervous but excited for this bucket list trip✅
