I hope this packing list for Nantucket provides you some inspiration for your next trip to ACK!
Next week we are heading to Nantucket! I am so excited, yet nervous.
Grant and I have never been to New England together – and I haven’t been since I was a toddler. Needless to say, I am very excited to be going somewhere that feels new to the both of us.
I am sure like many of you, the first thing I think of when I book a trip is, “what am I going to wear?”
Nantucket is definitely an interesting destination since it is a bit cooler (despite it being a post-Memorial Day trip), so I definitely had to take that into consideration.
Additionally, we’re only there for 3 nights, therefore I am making it my goal to ONLY PACK A CARRY-ON!
I know, very hard to believe for a gal like me – but I am up for the challenge.
So take a look at these little mood boards I made to help me with my packing for next week – and to help you create your own packing list when traveling to Nantucket!
Outfit Idea #1: Stylish Layering

Our weather forecast is looking like days averaging around the high 50’s and low 60’s, so I feel like layering will be important!
Since I am from the north I am used to this kind of weather, but I do expect it to be windier than I am used to.
I plan on bringing some cashmere for the cooler days, but also bringing my Lorna Murray sun hat to protect my face from the UV rays and protect my hair from wind!
I’m also being mindful of my carry-on goal and only packing one purse that will go with literally everything.
This purse from Kathleen Maeve (link removed – product no longer made) goes with everything and can be dressy or casual.
And of course, white sneakers since we’ll be walking/biking a lot.

Outfit Idea #2: Activewear Chic

This look is definitely for the morning to get out and get the blood pumping.
Of course, I’d layer a sweatshirt with a workout dress if I go that route to keep warm.
No active look is complete without a Lululemon belt bag – which are seriously so handy, and I love this color. Some comfy trainers, and a cute nautical baseball cap to hide the bed head.

Outfit Idea #3: Classic New England

While I wear white denim year ’round, it will be post Memorial Day so everything is free game.
A white jean, especially these cropped flare ones from J.Crew Factory, have been my go-to as of late, and they’re so versatile.
A nautical sweater is always appropriate on Nantucket.
And I figured I’d pack one pair of sandals just in case it feels warm enough to wear. If not, this look would be perfect with sneakers.
