Oxford Exchange – The Best Brunch in Florida

December 6, 2018 · In: Travel

Hey y’all! Today I want to share with you my very first trip to Oxford Exchange. I have heard so many people talk about this place for years and we finally live close enough that we could go. And y’all… It was EVERYTHING I expected and MORE.

If you’ve never heard of Oxford Exchange it is a restaurant/coffee shop situation lol. The best way I could describe it is a co-op! The building itself has a beautiful history as well. In 1891 it was originally built as a stable, in the 1920’s the building housed many local shops and businesses, and after being empty for decades two siblings purchased it and it opened as Oxford Exchange in 2012.

Oxford Exchange has a restaurant, a coffee shop, a tea bar, a bookstore, a Warby Parker eyeglass store, an interior design studio, a digital/web design studio, and so much more! You can even hold private events at Oxford Exchange, including weddings. I can totally see why someone would want to have a special event there. It is picture perfect and the food is amazing.

So let’s get into the important details of Oxford Exchange 😉 Oxford Exchange is open Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:30pm for breakfast (7:30-10:30am), lunch (11am-3pm), and dinner (3pm-5pm). Sat-Sun they are open 9am-5pm for brunch (9am- 4pm) and afternoon tea (3pm-5pm, also on Fridays). We had brunch on Sunday and we had a reservation which can be made on their website; I highly recommend having a reservation! You do not need reservation if you’re just going in to go to the coffee and tea bars. They also serve pastries and such at the coffee bar.

For brunch I ordered an iced gingerbread tea latte (one of their seasonal selections) and the benedict which has avacado mash on it and is served with a HUGE side of breakfast potatoes. The benedict was TO DIE FOR. So insanely delicious. The egg wasn’t too runny, the bacon was crispy, and the sauce they put on it was mouth-watering. I am quite the picky eater and normally am not head over heels for restaurants or dishes. But this completely changed me, no lie.

My benedict was $17, and considering there was avocado on it and I couldn’t even finish all of the potatoes, it was a great deal! Also, I don’t think I mentioned Oxford Exchange prides themselves on getting locally sourced food as well as it being hormone/antibiotic free. As for the gingerbread tea latte I kinda wish I would have just gotten it as hot tea. But it definitely tasted like gingerbread! I didn’t finish it with my meal and they gave me a to-go cup which was awesome. The ice latte cost $4.75.

Grant opted to get the french toast, which OE is known for, and it did not disappoint! I am not a fan of french toast but even I thought it was delicious! It was crispy, not soggy, and topped with fresh berries. The french toast was $14 and came with 3 huge, thick pieces! Grant also got a side of bacon which I believe was $4.75, and a glass of fresh Florida orange juice which was $3. We both loved everything!

Oxford Exchange offers a ton of breakfast and lunch options, so there is something for everyone! They also serve alcohol and have a whole separate menu for coffee and tea. It’s crazy! I’ll link their menu page HERE on their site.

When we finished our meal our receipt was handed to us in an old book. It was so unique, I had never seen anything like it!

After eating we explored the building more. Conveniently we happened to be there one of the two days they were holding their Holiday Bazaar. There were a variety of local vendors and artisans and we ended up picking up a fun Pittsburgh-themed print from the shop Bloomwolf Studio. Love their state and city art!

We had such a wonderful experience at Oxford Exchange. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, the beautiful decor, and the superb service. I will definitely be back!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo
Jayme

The best part of any beach trip is showering after a long day in the water and throwing on your favorite sun dress with your fresh tan🤍 I am obsessed with this new one I snagged for only $35 - plus the perfect purse to match🐚

Genuinely if I have $1 for every time I’ve been told I “don’t belong in Western PA” - I’d have enough money to move to the southern city of my choosing😂 But seriously - I’ve gotten these comments since I was in middle school!

I’ve heard it said PA is 10 years behind on fashion👀 I can confirm people don’t understand me or my Lorna Murray hat I bought back in 2022👒

Getting vulnerable for a second: I love creating content and blogging but photographing myself lately, especially on this trip, has been rough for my self-esteem. While curating this post I was second guessing even posting these pictures because I didn’t like the way my body looked. Over the past month I’ve been on a regimen of medications that have thrown my body through a loop have had me not feeling myself. Even a “healthy” diet and daily exercise can’t reverse the side effects I’m experiencing and it’s been hard for me to reconcile that. In this process I’ve been reminding myself I don’t look at others around me or people I follow online and analyze their bodies or looks.

So this is your reminder that we’re overthinking ourselves more than others are thinking about us. And it’s easier said than done, but give yourself grace through all seasons of life🤍
