Summer has now begun for so many, which likely means you’re prepping for your summer vacation. One of my favorite summer vacation destinations is obviously Walt Disney World! Whether you go to do the parks open to close, or you’re like me and prefer to lounge at the resorts, there are certain essentials that need to be on your packing list. Today I wanted to share with you the must-have’s for Disney World for our summer vacation.
I hope these items help you beat the heat and stay comfortable throughout your stay. Enjoy!
Comfortable Footwear
If you’re going to Disney, it is likely you’ll be doing a lot of walking! So you’ll want the most comfortable shoes possible for the occasion. Check out my previous post here for my favorite shoes for Disney! But you can also level up your already comfortable footwear with these shoe inserts.

UV Umbrella
An umbrella is a must – after all, it is Florida in the summer! So of course you can expect the daily afternoon shower. However, go a step further and snag a UV umbrella. This will be functional for the rain and the sun! The one linked is also anti-wind (and tested and approved by yours truly).
Reusable Water Bottle
Packing your own reusable water bottle will ensure you stay hydrated – and save you a ton of money! You can easily fill up your bottle with ice and water at any walk-up restaurant, or visit one of the many water bottle refill stations, which you can find via the MyDisneyExperience app by searching “water bottle refill station.” I personally prefer this style of stainless steel bottle since it’s easy to carry, fill, and it stays cold the longest!

Cooling Towels
In my opinion, cooling towels are such a game-changer for your summer Disney trip! It can get hot fast, but a cooling towel is something you can continually put ice cold water on and place on your body to keep you cool. I’d recommend having at least one for every member of the family – and even multiple for small children, and use them to line a stroller seat.
KT Tape for Chafing
This tip is for my fellow girls with thick thighs! I’ve always had thigh chafing, and it’s super painful and ruins my travel experience. I’ve tried all of the products on the market and for the past two years or so my most reliable remedy has been using KT Tape on my thighs. I get the skin-toned color and cut a larger piece in half, then place each half on each inner thigh. This stuff is water-resistant and sweat proof so it stays on pretty well! Highly recommend!
